It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of a truly inspirational woman today. After a 10 year battle with Breast Cancer, that came back on three different occasions, Donna Meier Charpied succumbed to breast cancer this morning. She was a strong willed and very opinionated woman. She was a good friend/co-worker/boss. You either loved her or hated her. I have had my fair share of fights with her throughout my career but it was work and she never took anything personal.
The one thing that everyone could agree with and respect about her was that she was Fair. She treated every person at work equally. If you had a problem and went to her she would fix it. She was easy to talk to and fun to be around. We used to call her Captain Chaos. She would walk through an area and by the time she was done the area would be a flurry of activity. She loved giving out projects to us during the middle of dispatch and at the most inopportune times.
She loved her kids and grandkids and talked about them all the time. She listened to your problems and asked about your family. The thing about it though was she really did care. It wasn’t just small talk with her.
I know she made me a better person and she will be missed dearly. I hope she can now finally rest in peace.
