Just a warning. Some images in this post are graphic and may upset some people. But we must never forget the tragedy that has befallen our great Nation on 9-11-01.
Many people forget things that happen over the course of their lifetimes. I could not tell you what I was doing during Hurricane Katrina, The Tsunami that hit Japan and other various global disasters. I can tell you what I was doing during 9-11-01.
I was working for the postal service in Hicksville, NY. I was loading a truck of mail listening to the radio when the news struck. At 8:46am 5 hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the World Trade Centers North Tower. At first we(at work) thought it was just a horrible plane crash and we couldn’t believe it. But and at 9:03 a.m., another five hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the South Tower. Than at 9:37am Five hijackers flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon. The last plane that was hijacked, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m after the brave men and woman on the flight fought the hijackers.
Everyone on the Deck at work was up in arms. No one knew what to do. We all rushed into the break room to watch the Tv and to see what actually happened. Some people at work were crying, others wanted to rush to the city and help out.
Many firefighters and policemen lost their lives trying to help at ground zero. It was a tragedy that brought our nation together. One picture that everyone remembers symbolizes our great nation.
So stop what you’re doing today and take a moment to remember the senseless deaths of 2,996 people during an act of cowardice.
